What Actually Happens in a Tufting Workshop?
Here’s exactly what to expect, from walk-in to walk-out.
Never tried tufting before? Good. Neither had most people who've walked through our doors. Here's the full picture, step by step.
Step 1, Pick Your Design, Before You Even Arrive
You don't have to wait until you're in the studio to decide what you're making. Your design is traced before you arrive, so your canvas is ready to go the moment you walk in. Browse our design library ahead of time and come in with your choice ready. Florals, geometric, abstract, your pet's face, all fair game.
Step 2, Get Settled & Choose Your Colours
Good music, yarn everywhere, zero intimidation. Our team gets you set up at your frame and helps you pick your palette from wall-to-wall yarn in every shade imaginable. This is the part everyone spends the most time on, and we fully understand why.
Step 3, Grab a Drink & Settle In
Before you start tufting, help yourself to our pantry area, beverages, cookies, and a moment to get comfortable. Think of it as the calm before the (very satisfying) creative storm.
Step 4, Start Tufting
Your instructor shows you how. The first few minutes feel new, then something clicks. It's focused, meditative, and oddly addictive. We're nearby the whole time if you need help, a colour swap, or just a second opinion.
Step 5, We Finish It For You
Once you're done, we trim, back, and clean your rug. You don't lift a finger. What you get is a finished piece, ready to hang the moment you're home.
Step 6, Take It Home
Once you've finished tufting, we take a few days to glue, trim, and give your rug the final touches it deserves. When it's ready, you can either come back to pick it up or have it delivered straight to your door.
Either way, walk out of your session knowing something you made is on its way to you. The whole tufting session runs 2–3 hours, and the wait for the finished piece? Completely worth it.
